Established to provide exhibition opportunities for professional photographers and photo enthusiasts, Head On represents a lively and diverse cross section of new and traditional photographic practices and presents an exciting display of new portraiture to a growing photography audience. Images selected for Head On 2004 ranged from digitally produced documentary portraiture to evocative portraits made with a pinhole camera. Works to be displayed in 2005 will be selected by esteemed critic and photographer Robert McFarlane, photographer and winner of the 2003 Citigroup Private Bank Australian Photographic Portrait Prize, Greg Weight and photographer, Moshe Rosenzveig, the producer of Head On. The show will be opened by Patrick Corrigan, Sydney businessman and patron of the arts. Thee prizes will be awarded for the best images. One prize will be gallery space for a solo exhibition, while the other two are expected to consist of pieces of equipment. (Details will be published on this website when they are available.)
