The annual Head On Festival of photography takes place in various venues across Sydney between 12 May and 8 June, 2014.
Now in its fifth year, the associated exhibitions will be held in art galleries, public spaces and community sites and cover everything from domestic violence and mental health, through celebrity culture fine art and landscape to the latest in mobile phone photography and multimedia. This year more than 140 exhibitions will be showcasing the work of around 900 photographers along with over 4,000 entries across the four categories in the prize competition. International guests from USA, Columbia, Canada and Europe, Benjamin Lowy (Getty), Chris Rainier (National Geographic), Erika Diettes, Jim Dooley (Alexia Foundation) will be among the participants.

The Head On Photo Festival’s four prizes will also be announced on Friday 16th May 2014. The Fountain Court in the Parliament of New South Wales has been chosen for the Head On Landscape Prize exhibition. In addition, the Parliament is introducing the NSW Parliament Landscape Photography Prize, which will be awarded to best photograph of a NSW landscape from among the finalists. Sponsored by Desane Group Holdings, this Prize will also be announced at the opening night. Finalists in the Mobile Phone Award and inaugural Head On Multimedia Award will be on display in the Danks Street Complex in Waterloo between 14 May and 7 June.
