February 14, 2008: Qstarz has released a new GPS travel recorder which allows photographers to record location data in digital image files.
The BT-Q1000 Platinum has an MTK chipset which gives a fast and accurate signal with 51 channel performance. It includes Bluetooth connectivity that allows data to be transferred to a notebook PC, PDA or Smartphone for satellite navigation and the ability to record location data for transferring to digital image files.
Up to 200,000 way points can be stored in the on-board memory and the battery supports up to 32 hours of operation between charges. An auto on/off system conserves power when the device is not in use. Users can easily switch between navigation mode and log mode (NAV + LOG) support is provided for one-push manual location logging. Records can be lacked up as GPX, PLT, CSV, NMEA or Google Earth files.
Software supplied with the BT-Q1000 Platinum allows users to geo-tag images in three easy steps. It also provides track split and track edit facilities, along with Flickr and Google Earth integration. Photo preview and slideshow functions are supported when the BT-Q1000 Platinum is connected to a computer or device with a viewing screen. Users can also analyse speed and altitude changes.
