February 15, 2011: Getty Images is seeking entries for the 2011 Grants for Good program, which aims to help nonprofit organisations use the power of imagery to promote positive change in the world and help communicate their stories more effectively.
Created in 2009, the Getty Images Grants for Good will provide two grants of US$15,000 each to cover the costs of creating compelling new imagery that will further a nonprofit organisation’s mission. Judged by a panel of leading industry professionals, participants will be judged on their technical, organisational and storytelling skills, as well as the strength and vision of their plans to use the imagery effectively. Last year, more than 100 entrants submitted their photography from over 27 countries.
This year’s judges include James Partridge, Founder and Chief Executive of Changing Faces; Ian Haworth, Global Chief Creative Officer and Chairman of RAPP and Michael Hall, award-winning photographer and climate change activist. Winners will be announced in June at the 2011 Cannes Advertising Festival. For further information on Getty Images’ grants program, including previous recipients visit www.gettyimages.com/grants.
