A new exhibition showcasing a collaboration between an Australian and an International artist will open at the Australian Centre for Photography in Sydney on 26 October.

Titled Geography of Space, Archaeology of Time, it displays the works of Sydney-based photographer, Izabela Pluta and Tokyo-based Utako Shindo, who have worked together over this year as part of an ACP program that  facilitates a dialogue between an Australian and an International artist with the aim to foster and expand meaningful engagement and deeper global connections. Over the last year Shindo and Pluta have shared with one another their fascination with space and time each creating new works concerned with the processes of translation, mutation and fragmentation, both poetically and analytically. In their creative production, each seeks to suspend geographical specifities and fold time so that archaeological remains are fused within a contemporary experience of place.

The exhibition will be on display at the ACP Project Space Gallery, 72 Oxford Street, Darlinghurst, NSW 2010 from 26 October to 1 December. A panel discussion will take place on 27 October at 2:30 pm. Click here for more information.
