May 7, 2007: Fujifilm’s new FinePix F40fd digicam combines high resolution with hardware-based Face Detection Technology, a Real Photo Processor II image processor and ISO 2000 sensitivity at full resolution.
Compact and affordably priced at $449, it sports a 6th generation Super CCD HR image sensor with 8.3-megapixel resolution and a Fujinon 3x optical zoom lens. Digital zoom magnification of up to 6.9x is available. The camera provides 15 special scene position modes: Natural Light, Natural Light & Flash, Underwater, Snow, Night, Close-up, Portrait, Landscape, Sport, Fireworks, Sunset, Beach, Museum, Party, Flower and Text. The Natural Light & Flash mode captures two photos in quick succession ““ one with flash and one without ““ before displaying both photos side by side for easy comparison.
The 2.5-inch LCD screen has a proprietary WV film coating that expands the viewing angle by up to 25 degrees, compared with the F31d model. Video clips can be recorded with VGA resolution at 30 frames/second with sound. Accessories include a Lithium-ion battery NP-70; Battery Charger BC-70; hand strap; USB cable; A/V cable; CD-Rom with FinePix Viewer and ImageMixer VCD2 LE for FinePix and Owners Manual. Optional accessories for the FinePix F40fd include waterproof casing.
