Designed for Fujifilm’s X-Series of interchangeable-lens mirrorless cameras, the XF 50mm f/2 R WR lens covers an angle of view equivalent to a 76mm lens in 35mm format. Its fast f/2 maximum aperture provides scope for depth of field control and supports high speed autofocusing. The optical design of the lens features nine elements in seven groups and includes one aspherical ED lens. Internal focusing is  driven by a stepping motor for fast and silent operation. The design almost completely eliminates mechanical vignetting when using the optical viewfinder on the Fujifilm X-Pro2 camera.

The new lens is mainly constructed from metal components. It is weather-sealed at 10 points around the barrel, making it weather and dust resistant, and can operate in temperatures as low as -10 °C. The Fujinon XF 50mm f/2 R WR lens has a local RRP of AU$749 and is due for release in February. For more information, visit www.fujifilm.com.au.
