Due for release in June, the new Fujinon GF110mm f/2 R LM WR lens will have an RRP of AU$4299.   With a focal length equivalent to 87mm in the 35mm format, it is ideal for portraiture and boasts a f/2 maximum aperture that delivers high resolving power. The optical design contains 14 elements in nine groups and includes four ED lens elements to suppress aberrations. Nine rounded iris diaphragm blades create attractive bokeh both in front of and behind the area of optimal sharpness.

Covering an angle of view equivalent to an 18mm lens on a 35mm camera, the GF23mm f/4 R LM WR lens (RRP AU$3999) is ideal for shooting landscapes and architectural photography. The optical design contains 15 elements in 12 groups and includes two aspherical lenses, one super ED lens and three ED lenses. Optimal arrangement of the Super ED lens and three ED lenses effectively suppresses chromatic aberration and maintains edge-to-edge sharpness. Nano GI coating has been applied to the lens to minimise ghosting and flare. The lens, which will go on sale in June, also features an aperture ring with a C position (command dial mode) to allow the lens aperture value to be changed via the command dial on the camera body. A locking mechanism has been added to the A (Auto) and C positions to prevent unintended movements of the aperture dial.

Both lenses are weather resistant with nine seals to exclude dust and light rain. They also feature linear AF motors for fast and quiet shooting. Accessories for each of the new lenses includes a lens cap, lens rear cap, lens hood and lens pouch.

Fujifilm has also released a roadmap (shown above) showing existing and proposed release dates for lenses for the GFX camera system. The next lens to be released will be a 45mm f/2.8 R WR lens with a 35mm equivalent focal length of 36mm, which is due later in this year. It will be followed in 2018 by a telephoto prime lens and a tele converter, for which details have still to be released.

New accessories for the GFX system have also been announced. Among them are the EC-XT S, EC-XT M, EC-GFX, eyecups for the EVFs on the GFX 50S, X-T2 and X-T1 cameras and a View Camera Adapter G, which will allow the use of older Fujinon large format camera lenses on the GFX 50S. These accessories are due for release in June but pricing has not yet been disclosed. For details, visit www.fujifilm.com.au.
