April 25, 2005: Fujifilm is featuring its latest imaging innovation is Real Photo Technology in two new, compact, point-and-shoot digicams with high-resolution sensors and 3x optical zoom lenses.
The FinePix F10 has a 6.3-megapixel Super CCD sensor while the FinePix Z1 sports a 5.1-megapixel CCD sensor. Most of the rear panel on each model is covered by a large 2.5-inch LCD screen that is used for composing and viewing shots. No viewfinder is provided. Both models feature Fujifilm’s new Real Photo Processor, which supports a sensitivity range from ISO 80 to ISO 1600, with all settings achievable at full resolution. This allows shots to be taken without flash in low light situations, such as social events.

Both models boast minimal shutter lag times, which in the Z1 is as short as 1/100 second. Real Photo Technology has also improved power consumption, allowing the FinePix F10 to capture up to 500 photographs with a single charge of its lithium-ion battery. Both models also provide a 3:2 aspect ratio option for photographers who wish to produce snapshot-sized prints from their photographs.
The FinePix F10 is on sale now at a recommended retail price of $699, while the FinePix Z1 is due for release in June. Pricing for the Z1 gas still to be determined. Details can be found at www.fujifilm.com.au.
