Fujifilm has announced it will be discontinuing a number of traditional film products.
Earmarked for termination are the Fujicolor Superia X-Tra 400, Fujichrome Velvia 50 and 100 and Fujichrome Provia 100F, which will cease production in March, 2018. The Fujicolor Natura 1600, Fujicolor 1600 Single Use, Neopan 100 Acros 4 x 5 and Neopan 100 Acros 8 x 10 will be discontinued in May, 2018. This announcement should not come as a surprise, given the relatively low use of silver halide (AgX) films worldwide. Eventually, the transition to full digital capture will occur, with only the relatively successful Instax media persisting a little longer than traditional films.
