Fujifilm has announced the up-coming release of firmware updates that will provide performance improvements in three key cameras.
First to be released is Firmware version 3.30 for the GFX 50S, which will be available at the end of November. It adds support for the 35mm Format Mode when using GF Lens with the H mount adapter, cropping the centre of the frame to 36 x 24 mm and enabling simultaneous RAW+JPEG recording. Also in the update are improved eye-sensor response times for switching between EVF and LCD, support for simultaneous deleting of RAW and JPEG files and EVF and LCD colour adjustments.
Firmware version 2.00 for the X-T3 will add support for 4K HDR video recording in Hybrid Log Gamma (HLG) format along with simultaneous outputting of Film Simulation and F-Log footage. Movie files will no longer be split when the file reaches 4GB file size, provided an SD card with a capacity higher than 32GB is used. The new firmware will also allow Kelvin temperature values to be displayed on the EVF/LCD and allow slower shutter speeds than the frame rate to be selected with 4K 29.97p/25p/24p/23.98p. Users will now to be able to select ALL-Intra at a maximum bitrate of 400Mbps with H.264 compression. A power supply icon will be displayed on the EVF/LCD while using AC adapter (AC-9VS), or Anker PowerCore+ 26800 PD5 and Anker PowerCore Speed 20000 PD power banks.
Also available in December, firmware version 2.00 for the X-H1 will enable in-body image stabilisation and optical image stabilisation to work together to improve overall stability and achieve more than five-stops (up to the equivalent of 5.5 stops) of 5-axis stabilisation with compatible lenses. Lens firmware will need to be updated to support this improvement.
