September 23, 2005: Fujifilm’s new 5.1 megapixel FinePix S5600 is due for release in October at an RRP of $549.
Featuring a fixed Fujinon lens with 10x optical zoom and mini SLR-styling, the new model offers an array of impressive features that are normally only found in a larger camera .The camera has a new 5th generation Super CCD HR sensor that supports up to 5.7x digital zoom and sensitivity speeds range from ISO 64 to ISO 1600. Fujfilm claims a start-up time of just 1.1 seconds and a shutter lag of 0.01 seconds. The FinePix S5600 also includes an Anti-Blur Mode that automatically adjusts the sensitivity up to ISO 800 depending on light conditions in order to suppress blur caused by camera shake and subject movement.
Other features include a wide range of other mode dials and manual functions (including manual focus and exposure); high quality VGA video recording at 30 frames per second; and a highlight warning function that displays highlight areas in a playback image. Accessories include a 16MB xD-Picture Cardâ„¢, 4 x AA-type alkaline batteries, shoulder strap, USB cable (mini-B), A/V cable, lens cap, CD-Rom with FinePix Viewer and ImageMixer VCD2 LE for FinePix.
