: Fujifilm’s new FinePix E500 Zoom and FinePix E510 are due to go on sale late this month.
Featuring 4.1-megapixel (effective) resolution, theFinePix E500 Zoom is expected to sell for $499, while the 5.2-megapixel FinePix E510 will be priced at $599. Both models are fitted with a new Fujinon 3.2x optical zoom lens with a focal length equivalent to a 28-91mm in 35mm format,. The E500’s optical zoom lens is coupled with 3.6x digital zoom (3.9x for the E510) and both cameras combine fully automatic shooting with full manual capabilities with a broad range of options in between. Users can adjust the camera’s white balance settings, flash modes and sensor sensitivity, the latter covering ISO 80 to ISO 400 settings. A 2-inch LCD monitor makes close-up shots easy and AVI movie capture at 10 frames/second is provided with sound. Two video resolutions are supported: 320 x 240 pixels and 160 x 120 pixels.

Shutter speeds range from two to 1/2000 second and the flash range is approximately 4.7 metres with the wide lens setting. Both cameras are also PictBridge enabled and can double as a webcam with Windows or Mac PCs. They are both supplied with a 16 MB xD-Picture Card plus two AA alkaline batteries.
