Winners of the 22nd annual FLICKERFEST International and Australian awards for short films were announced last night at the Bondi Pavilion, Bondi Beach.
FLiCKERFEST’s Best Australian Short Film Award has now joined FLICKERFEST’s existing Award for Best Film and Best Animation in the international section in becoming Academy Accredited. Winner of the Best Australian Short Film was ‘Yardbird’, directed by Michael Spiccia, written by Julius Avery and produced by Jessica Mitchell. This film also won the Avid Award for Best Editing in An Australian Short Film for editor, Jack Hutchings.
The festival draws to a close now in Sydney, but embarks on its national tour ““ first stop is Byron Bay with the festival touring to 46venues including capital cities and regional venues until May.
