Canon has announced a firmware upgrade that will enhance the performance of the company’s top-of-the line Professional DSLR camera, the EOS-1D X.

Firmware Version 1.1.1 enables the centre AF point  at f/8 when shooting with super telephoto lenses plus extenders. This expands the range of lens options, enabling photographers to use new lenses and extenders such as the EF400mm f/5.6 and the EF100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS with 1.4x extenders to provide zoom ranges up to 560mm. AI Servo AF points are now illuminated in flashing red to support shooting in low-light environments. Details are available in the revised user manual, which is available for downloading at http://support-au.canon.com.au/P/search?model=EOS-1D%20X&filter=0&menu=Manual.
