Canon has released updates firmware for its EOS R mirrorless camera and seven stabilised RF-mount lenses to make the IS mechanism work better on the new EOS R5 and R6 cameras.

Firmware Version 1.7.0 for the EOS R adds support for the new RF600mm f/11 IS STM and  RF800mm f/11 IS STM lenses plus the RF 1.4x and RF 2x extenders. It also improves playback functions through the camera’s multi-function bar and adds support for the LP-E6NH battery pack.  Click here to download the new firmware.

New firmware is also available for the following RF mount stabilised lenses to enable them to work with the IBIS systems in Canon’s new EOS R5 and EOS R6 cameras:
RF 15–35mm f/2.8L IS USM
RF 24–70mm f/2.8L IS USM
RF 24–105mm f/4–7.1 IS STM
RF 24–105mm f/4L IS USM
RF 24–240mm f/4–6.3 IS USM
RF 35mm f/1.8 IS Macro STM
RF 70–200mm f/2.8L IS USM

Unfortunately, it’s difficult to locate individual lenses on Canon’s local support page but the first lenses – the RF 24–105mm f/4–7.1 IS STM and RF 24–105mm f/4L IS USM can be found here.  It’s much easier to find them on Canon Canada’s website  which has them listed individually on the Home / Lenses / RF Lenses page.
