Canon has released firmware version 1.0.5.1 for its EOS C70 camera to improve production workflows with the ability to monitor up to four audio channels via the on-screen meter display.
The new firmware also offers support for Canon’s XC protocol and adds support for the recently released Flex Zoom Cinema lenses. The addition of support for Canon’s XC Protocol addresses the growing demand for multi-cam production by allowing integration into multi-camera solutions with direct control via Canon’s RC-IP100 remote camera controller and Remote Camera Control Application. Users can seamlessly incorporate the EOS C70 into their set up, through the remote controller or Remote Camera Control Application offering the perfect tools for local or remote operation when used with Canon’s Compact Servo lenses including the CN-E 18-80mm T4.4 L IS KAS S and CN-E 70-200mm T4.4 L IS KAS S. Users will also be able to enjoy the benefits of Face and Eye Detection AF and tracking in both slow and fast shooting modes (S&F). The new firmware also introduces new 4K Intra recording options up to 60P/50P at 600Mbps, offering higher image quality while still retaining efficient file sizes.
The EOS C70 firmware update v1.0.5.1 will be available to download here from early December.
