Panasonic has issued new firmware for its DC-S9, DC-S1H and DC-G100D mirrorless cameras, which is available to download now.

Firmware Version 1.3 for the DC-S9 improves the start-up speed of the camera as well as operational stability. It also applies the following security enhancements
– When directly connecting the camera and smartphone via Wi-Fi, the connection has been changed to always require password authentication. (The [Wi-Fi Password] menu has been removed.)
– The [TKIP] encryption method is no longer supported when connecting to Wi-Fi via an access point.
– The [No Encryption] option in network authentication is no longer supported when connecting to Wi-Fi via an access point.
– The image transfer feature to PC via Wi-Fi has been removed. (Only European/Ukrainian models)

A similar suite of security improvements has been released in Firmware Version 1.1 for the DC-G100D camera, along with improved operational stability. The new firmware can be downloaded here.
Firmware Version 2.8 for the DC-S1H adds a pop-up message when using a Panasonic collapsible lens. It also improves operational stability. The new firmware can be downloaded here.
