Sony has issued new firmware for its α9 Mark II camera plus the FE 24mm f/1.4GM and FE 135mm f/1.8GM lenses.
Firmware version 1.01 for the recently-released α9 Mark II (ILCE-9M2) full-frame mirrorless camera enables FTP transfer to be started earlier after shooting pictures and improves the overall stability and performance of the camera by correcting a specific condition where the camera can sometimes turn off when playing back RAW images. It also makes JPEG image quality more consistent when shooting under certain conditions. Click here for the downloads for Windows and Mac operating systems and installation instructions.
The new firmware (Ver.02) for the FE 24mm f/1.4GM and FE 135mm f/1.8GM (SEL135F18GM) lenses delivers improvements to the aperture response when these lenses are used on the α9, α9 II and α7R IV cameras. It also allows Focus Priority to be selected from the Aperture Drive in AF menu when the lens is attached to an α9 camera (with firmware version 6.00 or later).
