Canon has issued firmware updates for its EOS-ID C, EOS-1D X, EOS-1D X Mark II, EOS 5DS, EOS 5DS R, EOS 5D III and EOS 5D IV DSLR cameras.

The firmware updates for the seven EOS cameras all provide fixes for potential vulnerabilities related to the Picture Transfer Protocol and firmware updates.

Firmware Version 1.1.7 for the EOS-1D X Mark II fixes the following additional issues:

  1. The camera may not connect to a network when using an Ethernet cable to connect to a Wi-Fi mobile hotspot.
    2. The camera may not connect to a network in certain network environments.
    3. The camera cannot connect to a 5GHz network when the SSID is hidden.
