Firmware update Ver.1.20 for Fujifilm’s X-T30 camera is now available.

The new firmware adds the ability to control movie recording from external devices, such as gimbals and drones to complement the current support for still image shooting via USB communications. Users can now start and end recordings, adjust exposure settings and manual focus via USB connections.

Autofocusing performance is enhanced through improved eye AF frame tracking, improved face-detection performance when there are faces of different sizes within the same frame and increasing the ability to focus on a foreground subject even when there is a mixture of foreground and background subjects within a AF frame.

The new firmware also increases the number of pictures that can be saved in a folder on an SD card from 999 to 9,999 pictures. Several minor bugs have also been fixed.

Along with the new X-T30 firmware, Fujifilm has also published a new Features Guide for theX-T30 in PDF format, available in 17 different languages. Click here to visit the download page for access to the new firmware and Features Guide.
