The latest firmware issued for Canon’s popular PowerShot G7 X Mark III compact camera provides enhancements to its autofocusing capabilities.
Firmware Version 1.1.0 adds a new Movie Servo AF mode, which enables the photographer to choose from three Movie Servo AF settings: Mode 1, Mode 2 or Disable.
The newly added Mode 1 supports fast and responsive focusing, particularly when tracking subjects and while the photographer is moving.
Mode 2, the existing setting, is designed for shooting landscapes or subjects with little or no movement.
