Fujifilm has released firmware updates for six cameras, while Sony is offering updates for nine lenses and one lens mount adaptor.
Firmware Version 1.10 for the GFX 50S camera adds support for tethered shooting via wireless communication and improves the operability of exposure compensation and
AF speeds with relatively dark subjects. The new firmware also adds the ability to upgrade firmware for accessories like the Shoe Mount Flash along with compatibility with the GF 23mm f/4 R LM WR lens. A couple of bug fixes are also included.
Firmware V. 3.10 for the X-Pro2 camera adds two additional options to the EVF brightness range and function assignment capabilities to the Rear Command Dial. Firmware V. 5.20 for the X-T1 provides an additional BACKUP & RESTORE function in Tether shooting, giving the ability to save all camera settings as a file so they can be transferred to other cameras or restores if required. Firmware V. 2.10 for the X-T2 provides tethered shooting by wireless, adds an ‘ALL’ setting to the AF mode enabling the AF mode and focus area size to be selected via the command Dial, expands the AF-S and AF-C functions in Shutter AF and Shutter AE modes, enables expansion of the EVF brightness range and allows an assigned function to be activated when the Rear Command Dial is pressed. Some minor bug fixes are also included.
Firmware V. 1.01 for the X-T20 fixes a phenomenon that allows image size to be displayed when photometry is selected in the Add Items section of the My Menu setting. Firmware V. 1.01 for the X-100F fixes a phenomenon that prevented ISO from being changed by the command dial when ISO is set to AUTO when the camera is being controlled via Wi-Fi, corrects a couple of issues associated with MF mode and improves the operability for the command dials. Sony has released updates for its FE 24-70mm f/2.8 GM (SEL2470GM), Vario-Tessar T* 24-70mm f/4 ZA OSS (SEL2470Z), FE 24-240mm f/3.5-6.3 OSS (SEL24240), FE 28-70mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS (SEL2870), Planar T* FE 50mm f/1.4 ZA (SEL50F14Z), FE 50mm f/1.8 (SEL50F18F), FE 85mm f/1.4 GM (SEL85F14GM), FE 70-200mm f/2.8 OSS (SEL70200GM) and FE 70-200mm f/4 G OSS (SEL70200G) lenses and the LA-EA3 adapter. The 24-70mm f/2.8 GM and 50mm f/1.8 updates improve AF stability, while the Planar 50mm f/1.4, 85mm f/1.4 GM and 70-200mm f/2.8 GM lenses gain improved AF tracking performance and allow 20 fps continuous recording with the α9 camera. Start-up time with the α9 camera is improved with the 70-200mm lens up-date. The updates for the Vario-Tessar 24-70mm f/4, 24-240mm f/3.5-6.3, 28-70mm f/3.5-5.6 and 70-200mm f/4 G lenses improve iris control during continuous shooting. Version 02 of the firmware for the LA-EA3 mount adaptor adds support for 10 fps shooting with the α9 camera.
