Sigma has issued a number of firmware updates for six lenses as well as updates for its MC-11 mount converters.

Updates applying to two or more mounts include fixes for the Sigma, Canon and Nikon mount versions of the Sigma 150-600mm F5-6.3 DG OS HSM | Contemporary lens (shown above), which are designed to improve the stability of the image in the viewfinder, making it easier to confirm shot composition.

The Canon and Sigma mounts of the 24-70mm and 85mm Art lenses also receive updates to correct sporadic overexposure at apertures smaller than f/8. Fixes are also provided for the Canon mount lenses to prevent camera lockups and video AF issues when these lenses are used with the EOS R and one of its mount adapters.

Also applicable to Canon -mount lenses are fixes to the 30mm f/1.4 DC HSM | Art lens, the 60-600mm f/4.5-6.3 DG OS HSM | Sports lens and the 120-300mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM | Sports lens. The 30mm f/1.4 DC HSM | Art lens gains compatibility with Canon’s in-camera Lens Aberration Correction function, improves AF accuracy when the lens is used with Live-View mode and provides compatibility with the EOS R’s 1.6x crop function and Scene Intelligent Auto Mode.

The update to the 60-600mm f/4.5-6.3 DG OS HSM | Sports lens enables this lens to be used with the EOS R and one of its mount adapters and corrects the phenomenon that prevents the camera from operating when the lens is taken off the camera while its OS function is in operation. The update to the 120-300mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM | Sports lens ensures compatibility with Canon’s in-camera Lens Aberration Correction function and improves the AF accuracy when the lens is used with the Sigma Mount Converter MC-11 EF-E.

Sigma has also updated its MC-11 SA-E and EF-E mount converters to make them compatible with the latest firmware updates and improve functionality with Sony’s full-frame lenses. Depending on the lens, improvements will be made to auto image stabilisation adjustment and exposure accuracy with dedicated Sony flashguns.

These updates can be applied via the Sigma USB dock accessory and Sigma’s Optimization Pro software. Links to downloads can be found here.
