Fujifilm and Panasonic have just released firmware updates for certain cameras, while Fujifilm has also announced updates for two XF lenses.

The firmware updates for Fujifilm’s X-A1, X-A2, X-E1, X-M1 and X-Pro1 cameras are designed to provide support for the focus limiter function in the Fuji  XF100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 R LM OIS WR lens. Updates for each camera can be downloaded from http://www.fujifilm.com/support/digital_cameras/software/fw_table.html. Also to be found on the same page are firmware updates that improve the focus tracking performance of the XF50-140mm f/2.8 R LM OIS WR XF and 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 R LM OIS WR  lenses with the X-Pro1 and X-E1 camera bodies.

Panasonic’s update applies to the DMC-GH4 camera, which gains Firmware version 2.5. As indicated in an announcement last month, it adds the company’s  4K Photo (Burst, Burst Start/Stop and 4K Pre-Burst) functions and post-focus capability as well as support for burst flash with the external DMW-FL580L and  DMW-FL360L external flashguns. The new firmware also includes some performance improvements and adds an offer for 100GB of free storage on Google Drive for two years for owners of the GH4 who register with the Lumix Club.
