March 30, 2006: Canon posted firmware updates for three popular digital SLR cameras on its BeBit website late yesterday. For the EOS 1D Mark II N, the new firmware update (Version 1.0.4) provides fixes for images appearing in monochrome with the sRGB colour space in the Standard Picture Style setting and also prevents images from being overexposed when Focusing Screen Ec-S is used. For the EOS 5D, firmware update Version 1.0.5 provides fixes for monochrome image problems and also prevents the shutter locking when the 5D is used with the EF 85mm f1.2 L lens and Speedlite 580EX. Firmware Version 1.0.4 for the EOS 30D addresses problems when displaying Chinese characters on the LCD monitor.
