Sony has released a firmware update for its A700 DSLR camera, adding increased functionality and improving certain features.

 

September 17, 2008: Sony has released a firmware update for its A700 DSLR camera, adding increased functionality and improving certain features.
According to overseas press releases, the new update includes:
– An extension of EV bracketing to make ø‚ ±2.0EV increments available for three shots to support high dynamic range (HDR) layering.
– The addition of an Off setting for high sensitivity noise reduction that enables users to remove noise reduction processing from both ARW.RAW and JPEG files.
– Improvements to white balance accuracy, the performance of the Dynamic Range Optimiser and high ISO performance.
– Improvements to the communication between the camera and the VG-C70AM Vertical Grip.
Sony has also released an update for its Image Data Suite application software. Version 3.0 improves ease of use and processing speed to benefit all Image Data Converter/Lightbox users, while updates to the Remote Camera Control application are specific to A700.
