Sony has issued firmware Version 3.10 for its ILCE-9 (α9) interchangeable-lens camera.
The new firmware adds support for the FE 400 mm f/2.8 GM OSS (SEL400F28GM) lens and adds a silent priority mode to the Aperture Drive in AF setting in the menu, aimed at reducing the sound emitted by the aperture drive in this lens when camera noise should be kept to a minimum. Autofocusing speeds may be reduced when this setting is selected. The camera’s overall stability will also be improved.
