Panasonic has announced a new firmware update for the Lumix DMC-L1 digital SLR camera.

April 10, 2007: Panasonic has announced a new firmware update for the Lumix DMC-L1 digital SLR camera.
The new update, which is available now, provides the following enhancements:
1. New multiple exposure function.
2. New panning mode [MODE3] has been added to the optical image stabiliser.
3. A new low-angle viewing mode makes it easier to view the LCD display when the camera is held below eye level.
4. Setting the aperture has been simplified for using a lens without an aperture ring.
5. Two new manual white balance settings have been added to the GUI (graphical user interface). The GUI’s design uses a navigational cursor to easily select, and set, white balance (WB) to change the colour temperature, or set the ISO sensitivity or flash. Time restrictions for making changes have been removed.
6. A “HOLD” option has been added to Auto Review time, enabling continuous viewing.
7. A feature has been added to allow zoomed playback of photos. It is now possible to move back to preceding images or forward to the next image while the current image is still zoomed.
8. It is now possible to select [AUTO] for ISO sensitivity in aperture-priority AE mode [A] and shutter speed-priority AE mode [S].
9. A GUI option has been added to easily check the firmware version.
