Entries have opened for the Extreme Environment Photographic Competition, which offers one of Australia’s richest prizes for a single image.

 

April 15, 2008: Entries have opened for the Extreme Environment Photographic Competition, which offers one of Australia’s richest prizes for a single image.

 

The competition is open to both amateur and professional photographers worldwide. Three prizes are up for grabs:
– The Salmon Ponds Prize is A$5000 for the finest image from an extreme environment.
– The Pure Tasmania – Wayne Papps Prize is A$2000 for the best image taken in Antarctica or the Subantarctic. It is open to amateur photographers only.

– The People’s Choice Award, which will be voted for during the Midwinter Festival Exhibition, offers A$500 worth of products from FujiFilm Australia.
Entries must be submitted on a CD and a panel of respected judges will select finalists in each category. Printing and framing costs are borne by the Midwinter Festival. Prize-winners will be announced at a special event on Sunday, June 29, 2008. All photographers retain copyright, but agree to exhibit their work if selected as finalists.
