January 18, 2007: Extensis has updated its Suitcase professional font management product for Windows PCs by adding improved font management functionality and Microsoft Vista compatibility.
The new version will be available for both workgroups and single-users running Windows 2000, Windows XP and the new Windows Vista operating systems. Using proprietary Font Sense powered auto-activation plug-ins, it will offer automatic font activation and deactivation in InDesignCS2, Illustrator CS2 and QuarkXPress 7, a first for the Windows platform. Users will be able to compare fonts side-by-side, group them logically, activate and deactivate them and resolve font conflicts.
Suitcase for Windows Client for Suitcase Server X1 connects seamlessly with Suitcase Server X1 to ensure consistent font use among workgroup members. Suitcase Server supports both the Windows and Macintosh Suitcase clients, making it an ideal font management solution for both Windows-only and cross-platform workgroups. In addition, Suitcase for Windows users will receive a free copy of Morrison SoftDesign’s Font Doctor for built-in corrupt font detection and repair.
English, French and German versions of Suitcase for Windows will be available by download from the Extensis website (www.extensis.com) in February 2007. Suitcase for Windows estimated street price is US $99.95.
