September 12, 2007: Film & Video Extras has just released a new monopod that makes it easy to take self-portraits without having to ask strangers to operate the camera.
Called the X-shot, it consists of a stainless steel arm that extends to 939mm and has a mount for attaching a compact camera weighing up to 340 grams. A quick-spin knob provides fast and secure camera mounting and the adapter can rotate through 180 degrees for easy positioning, while a thumb screw is used for locking the camera in place.
