Ticketing has opened for the 2021 Ballarat International Foto Biennale, which opens on 28 August 2021.

Next year’s event will feature a retrospective exhibition of photographs by Linda McCartney, whose photographic career spanned from 1965 to 1997, an important period in the evolution of pop and youth culture. Curated by Paul, Mary and Stella McCartney, the display eatures more than 200 extraordinary photographs, including images of the 1960s music scene, the McCartney family and a series of prints from their trips to Australia in 1975 and 1993 that have never been displayed before. Known for her portraits of Jimi Hendrix, The Rolling Stones and The Beatles, among many others, Linda McCartney was the first female photographer to shoot the cover for Rolling Stone magazine with a portrait of Eric Clapton.

Tickets to next year’s events are currently limited due to government regulations in relation to indoor galleries so intending visitors are advised to get in early. All indoor exhibitions will be ticketed at the 2021 Biennale and intending visitors will be able to purchase a Day Pass or a 3-Day Pass for a more immersive experience. Visitors should be prepared to select the date/s for their Festival Pass as well as the entry date and time for the Linda McCartney: Retrospective exhibition. They will then receive two ticket barcodes for each single Festival Pass holder.
