As an astronomer and photographer, Phil Hart is one of Australia’s most seasoned eclipse chasers. His winning exhibition, Eclipse! can be seen at Bibo Cafe and Restaurant until 20 October 2019. In 2017 Phil undertook an expedition to the Teton Range in Wyoming. With 180 kg of gear and 13 cameras, he hiked to the 3387 metre summit of Table Mountain, twice, for an iconic view of the totally eclipsed sun over one of North America’s famous mountain peaks.
Phil Hart was named as winner on the $2000 cash prize in the 2019 Ballarat International Foto Biennale Open Program on Saturday, 5 October.  The 2019 judges were Anthony Camm, Kate Gerritsen, Mark Guirguis, Tara Poole, Louise Tegart and Carole Wilson. Honourable mentions were given to Jon Paley for Dark Beauty, Nina Newcombe for Topographical Landscape and Pato Hebert for In, If Not Always Of.
