48 members of the Victorian Photographers’ Collective Facebook Group will hold an exhibition of their work at Magnet Galleries in Melbourne’s Docklands, opening on 8 November.

Titled “Our Great Southern Land” the display gives members of the group the opportunity to share their perspective of Australia at a time when photography is often taken for granted and easily dismissed. The exhibition runs from 8 to 30 November and the galleries are open between 11:00 am and 5:00 pm Tuesdays to Fridays and 11:00 am and 4:00 pm on weekends.

Magnet Galleries will also host the launch of Woolsheds Volume 2 by rural photographer, Andrew Chapman. A successor to the original 2012 publication, the new book features pictures and stories about woolsheds, woolgrowers, shearers and rouseabouts in Australia plus a special section on New Zealand. The event takes place on Thursday 14 November at 6:30 pm and the book will be available for sale (and signing) on the night.
