The transfer of the Olympus imaging division to OM Digital Solutions, the subsidiary of Japan Industrial Partners Inc. (JIP), has been completed with the establishment of a new company website.
As announced last year, Olympus has transferred its imaging division to Japan Industrial Partners Inc. (JIP) with the establishment of a new entity, OM Digital Solutions Corporation, on 1 January 2021. This new company will continue to produce the consumer products that have previously been manufactured and sold by Olympus. It will be based in Hachioji, Tokyo with a subsidiary in Osaka and headed by Shigemi Sugimoto as Representative Director and President. A document released by the new company describes the business operations as ‘involving the manufacture and sale of digital cameras (primarily mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras), interchangeable lenses, IC recorders and other audio products.
A new website has been created for the company: https://om-digitalsolutions.com/en/. Clicking on the Product Support link takes visitors to their local regional website, the design of which has not changed since 2017. Full product details can be found on this website, including download links for product user manuals, firmware, drivers, compatibility tables and a Q&A section covering frequently-asked questions. The corporate website also provides links to a message from the President plus a company profile.
