The hour-long event, which starts at 6:00 pm, coincides with the exhibition, Max Dupain: Australian Modern, which is on display at the gallery until 8 August 2021. Jill White worked at the Dupain Photographic Studio for more than 25 years over a period between 1958 and 1992. Dupain’s trust in White was such that after he died he bequeathed her his exhibition archive, which kept her busy with 25 major exhibitions of his work since his death – and three publications, as well has making her own photographic work. White has hand-printed the photographs in the exhibition. John Witzig is a photographer and designer for the small art publishing house, Chapter and Verse. He worked with White on three publications of works from the Dupain archive.

Doors open at 5.30pm and the Friends of the Gallery will be running a bar. Tickets cost $5 and booking is essential as numbers are limited. Phone the gallery on 02 66 274600 or email art.gallery@lismore.nsw.gov.au for more information.
