An exhibition showcasing the finalists in the 2020 Nikon-Walkley Awards for Excellence in Photojournalism is on display at NSW Parliament House, Fountain Court until 13 January.

Zoey Salucci McDermott and Mike Harrington lost their house in the fires. They are currently living in a donated Winnebago near Cobargo in New South Wales. The couple gave birth to their child Phoenix in the van after the fires. It is very difficult for the couple to isolate during the COVID-19 pandemic due to the lack of space. Works on display range across a wide range of genres, from news and sport to portraiture and photographic essays. Some images were captured in a split second, while others took months of research and trust-building. They cover stories ranging from politicians to everyday folk, from our backyards to the furthest corners of the globe.

The exhibition is held in Fountain Court at the NSW Parliament House, 6 Macquarie St, Sydney NSW 2000. It is open between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm Monday to Friday.
