Epson’s new Stylus Photo 935 Inkjet printer is the first model to offer wireless printing direct from Bluetooth-enabled digital still cameras.

May 2003: Epson’s new Stylus Photo 935 Inkjet printer is the first model to offer wireless printing direct from Bluetooth-enabled digital still cameras.
It also comes with card slots that accept at least six memory card formats, including CompactFlash, SmartMedia, Memory Stick, Secure Digital and MultiMediaCard as well as IBM Microdrives. These direct-printing facilities make it easy for digital camera users to obtain prints. Owners of the Sony Cybershot DSCFX77 (currently the first Bluetooth-enabled DSC) can actually print their shots by standing within 10 meters of the printer, selecting the shot they want to print and selecting the camera’s print function. No cables or complicated software are required and there’s no need to power up your PC.
The Stylus Photo 935 also supports direct connection of a range of supported USB Zip and CD-R drives, allowing shots to be printed directly from them or transferred directly from the printer’s card slot direct to the Zip or CD-R drive. (A list of supported CD-R and Zip drives can be found on the Epson website.)
The new printer uses Resolution Performance Management technology to produce an optimised resolution of 5760 dpi and features the standard six colours Intellidge Ink System. Both ensure photo quality output. It comes with full support for PRINT Image Matching and Exif Print. It is bundled with a comprehensive suite of software, including Epson’s PhotoQuicker 3.4 which now incorporates PRINT Image Framer (PIF) and PIF Designer as well as Sanyo’s Panorama Stitcher Light. A Roll Paper Holder and Auto Cutter are standard and the optional LCD Colour preview monitor is now a bigger 6.3 cm in size. Its suggested selling price is $699.
