September 3, 2007: The new Epson Stylus Photo RX690 all-in-one photo printer combines document and photo printing with scanning, copying and CD/DVD printing to provide home and small office users with an affordable imaging solution.
Retailing for a recommended price of $399, the Stylus Photo RX690 uses Epson’s long-lasting Claria photographic inks in six individual Intellidge cartridges, so consumers replace only the ink cartridges that are used for cost effective printing. Offering output speeds of up to 40ppm, and borderless 4×6 inch photo printing in as little as 12 seconds, the RX690 has dual paper trays for greater paper storage capacity and optional duplexing for double-sided printing.

Epson’s advanced MicroPiezo print head and Variable Sized Droplet Technology (VSDT) combine with Resolution Performance Management (RPM) to make the RX690 capable of printing various ink droplet sizes from as small as 1.5 picolitres, at a resolution of up to 5760 optimised dpi. The images and text are produced with detail, accuracy and speed.
Built-in PhotoEnhance technology analyses data in image files and automatically optimizes the printer settings to ensure excellent photo prints. The RX690 is PictBridge compatible and sports card slots for many popular memory card formats. Users can select images for printing via the 2.5-inch high resolution, tilt-adjustable LCD viewer, which is also used for viewing menus during PC-free printing sessions.
