February 2, 2006: The new Epson Stylus Photo RX650 is an all-in-one photo centre that combines a six-ink printer with a high-resolution scanner and supports CD/DVD label printing.
Offering increased photo print speed, the RX650 has a 2.5 inch colour LCD screen with Epson Photo Fine technology, which provides improved viewing and editing of images before printing. The screen has a resolution of 256 pixels/inch, allowing accurate cropping and photo enhancement choice. BorderFree 4 x 6-inch photos can be printed in just 45 seconds. Ink cartridges are individually replaceable to keep running costs low. The Stylus Photo RX650 also features Epson’s VSDT (Variable Sized Droplet Technology), with a minimum droplet size of 1.5 picolitres to ensure prints have smooth tonality and fine gradation.
The MatrixCCD scanner in the Stylus Photo RX650 scans at up to 3200 x 6400 dpi and the built-in TPU (Transparency Unit) also allows users to scan both positive and negative film. The Stylus Photo RX650 also includes CD/DVD direct copy and printing, with the ability to automatically crop the scanned or memory card image to fit onto a CD label. Users can print up to 12 images on one disc and create CD jackets for an added personal touch.
Bundled software includes Epson Scan, which has three modes: “Full Auto”, “Home” and “Professional” as well as colour restoration and dust removal functions to help users restore old photographs and negatives. A new Specialty Print menu allows users to print photos, combined with handwritten letters for personalised greeting cards or photo albums. The reprint/restore function supports multiple printing and restoring faded photos in a simple process. Epson’s Creativity Suite photo software solution is also provided.
The Epson Stylus Photo RX650 is expected to retail for $499. For full product specifications on this and other Epson printers visit www.epson.com.au.
