Photo Review received a review unit before the XP-950 was announced and we have published a detailed review of the multi-function device (click here). With printing, copying and scanning capabilities, the Expression Photo XP-950 is designed primarily for general usage and features two front-loading paper trays allow users to switch between photo and A4-sized media without having to reload the paper during printing. A3-sized paper is inserted through a dedicated rear paper slot.

This top-of-the-range all-in-one printer has a motorised control panel and output tray that automatically opens before printing, as well as a 4.3-inch touch-sensitive screen with a user-friendly interactive menu that allows PC-free photo printing from memory cards and PictBridge. Users can also print onto CDs and DVDs to personalise family films and digital photo albums. It uses Epson’s Claria Photo HD inks, which boast a wide colour gamut that can last up to 300 years when using Epson media and stored in a photo album. The six-colour Claria Photo HD ink set (black, cyan, magenta, yellow, light cyan and light magenta) delivers high contrast images, smooth natural skin stones and rich, vibrant colours.

Users can also print from anywhere in the world to their home printer by emailing documents and photos to the printer’s dedicated email address. The Scan-to-Cloud selection enables scanned images and documents to be uploaded automatically to cloud storage services, and the XP-950 is also compatible with Google Cloud Print.

The Epson Expression Photo XP-950 is available now from major retailers for an RRP of AU$399. Full details can be found at http://www.epson.com.au/products/multifunctional/ExpressionPhotoXP-950.asp.
