October 6, 2004: Epson has released five new multi-functional inkjet printers that address a wide range of consumer needs from entry level to sophisticated photo enthusiasts.
All of the new models feature PC-free copying, scanning and printing and four of the five are shipping this month. The entry level Stylus CX1500 is priced at $179 and is ideal for first time home users who want an easy to use machine. The Stylus CX3500 (RRP $249) will suit home users who want an affordable mid range multi functional printer suitable for both text and photo printing. It uses Epson’s DuraBrite pigment inks and can produce high quality photo prints that are durable, water and smudge resistant on plain and Epson specialty papers with fade resistance of up to 80 years. The Stylus Photo RX430 (RRP $299) has a built-in card reader that supports all popular memory cards. It can produce long lasting, BorderFree prints up to A4 size directly from a camera or card.

The Stylus CX6500 (pictured) supports direct printing from all popular memory card formats and includes built-in card reader. Users can create BorderFree prints up to A4 size without requiring a computer. It is priced at $399. Top of the range is the Stylus Photo RX630 (RRP $599), which has a built-in Transparency Unit (TPU) and is the world’s first MFP to offer PC-free printing from film. This model has a 600mm colour LCD viewer for standalone operation. It uses Epson’s new generation long-lasting HQ3 dye ink which is water, ozone and light resistant. Due for release in November, the RX630 features a high definition 2400 x 4800 dpi matrix CCD scanner for high quality copying of photos and supports direct scanning to memory cards and BorderFree copying and photo printing up to A4 size.
