May 30, 2008: Epson has announced two new large-format printers, the Epson Stylus Pro 7900 (24-inch) and Stylus Pro 9900 (44-inch), each of which features a new 10-colour ink system and a number of new features to appeal to professional photographic printers.
The new UltraChrome HDR ten-colour ink set consists of matte and photo black, light and light light black, cyan, light cyan, vivid magenta, vivid light magenta, yellow, orange and green. These high-density resin-coated pigment inks will be supplied in 700mL cartridges. A new print head features TFP (thin film piezo) coating, which repels ink to prevent nozzles from becoming blocked. The print head has 360 nozzles arranged in 10 rows to ensure faster throughput.
