July 14, 2008: Epson Australia has launched a large format ink cartridge recycling program for its professional printing customers as part of an ongoing global commitment to sustainable business and reducing its environmental impact.
Working with recycling partner, Close the Loop, the initiative includes collection of spent cartridges. Close the Loop converts the spent cartridges into useful objects and recovers any unused ink residue for use in printing packaging materials. The initiative is similar to the Cartridges 4 Planet Ark program for recovering consumer and business laser and inkjet cartridges for recycling.
Customers simply order their ink cartridge collection boxes from Epson’s Pro Graphics web site (http://www.epson.com.au/prographics/). Once the boxes are full (ready for collection) they call the number on the box and the full liner bags will be collected by Close the Loop.
