Entries have opened for the sixth edition of the Pride Photo Award, the international photo competition on sexual and gender diversity.
The theme of the 2016 competition is about communities: groups of people you (want to) feel a part of, and the people you do or do not welcome in the communities you belong to. It is about joining, belonging, participating and ostracising. It is about families, society, parishes, clubs, intimate circles. Photographers are also invited to reflect on their own role as an outsider or insider, and whether they create a world that invites the viewer in, or confronts the viewer with a world they do not feel part of, like a voyeur.
Registration opened on 13 May and will close on 30 June and participants can submit photos about sexual and gender diversity in four categories: Single Images, Stories, an Open category and this year’s theme category ‘Insiders/Outsiders’. For more
