The international 2013 savewater! Photographic Competition is looking for outstanding photographs that illustrate the value of water and conserving it for the future.

The savewater! Alliance is a not-for-profit association of water providers across Australia with the aim to help communities value water. Its photographic competition is now in its sixth year and is organised into three categories. There are two for students: Junior Student (up to 12 years old), Senior Student (13 to 17 years old), and an Open category.   Entries are judged on portrayal of the theme ‘Celebrating the value of water‘ as well as photographic quality, including composition, creativity and artistic quality, visual impact and technical competence. This year, photographers will have more chances to win, with a public vote taking place on social media once the finalists have been announced.

Prizes on offer for students include digital cameras, photography software, an iPod shuffle. Selected images will be used in international water campaigns. The school of the winning student will also receive a $500 cash prize if they are from a savewater! member region. To enter or for more information, visit www.savewater.com.au.
