Designed for the ELB 400 and all previous generations of Quadra series electronic flash units, the new Quadra HS flash head weighs only 280 grams and is optimised for high-speed, high-synch photography. It measures only 8.0 x 7.5 cm without the folding stand mount and reflector and not only packs well but it is mountable in situations that would be impossible for a full-sized flash head. When fitted with the optional Quadra reflector adapter, it supports the complete range of Elinchrom accessories, including Rotalux and Litemotiv, and includes circuit protection an interchangeable cable and a Daylight LED modelling lamp (50 W tungsten equivalent).
The head includes an interchangeable 2.5 m head cable, the Quadra reflector 13.5 cm with multifunction cap and a Quadra protective cap. The new flash head can be purchased either as a stand-alone item or bundled with the popular ELB 400 One HS To Go battery/charger unit. Both products come with a two-year warranty.

The EL-Skyport Transmitter Plus HS (or Skyport HS for short) is the most advanced unit to date, offering users the ability to view power settings across all their lights directly from the Skyport transmitter. The Large LCD display provides two-way control via a new Visual Feedback Interface that displays each light’s power level and modeling lamp setting. Updates to power settings are displayed instantly.
Photographers can also switch to Hi-Sync mode and access sync speeds up to 1/8000 second to freeze motion, overpower the sun, darken backgrounds or use a wider aperture. The new ODS (Over Drive Sync) enables users to fine tune the Skyport plus HS transmitter’s trigger signal to optimise exposures at high shutter speeds while gaining up to two more f-stops of light. It can also cover a range of up to 200 metres outdoors, and up to 60 metres indoors.
The Skyport HS has 20 frequency channels that can be used for either Normal or Speed mode. The transmitter attaches easily and securely to the hot-shoe via a one-touch quick-lock mechanism, and is powered by 2x AA batteries. It also features an integrated AF Illuminator for faster focusing and a mini-USB socket for firmware updates. Users can instantly distinguish what sync mode they are in as the backlit display glows green for normal sync mode, and red for speed sync mode.
The EL-Skyport Transmitter Plus HS is currently available for Canon and Nikon (with Sony to follow). For more information, contact robert@kayell.com.au.
