: Konica MinoltaAustralia has just announced local release details for the long-awaited Dynax 7D interchangeable-lens digital SLR camera, which features built-in image stabilisation and accepts existing Minolta AF lenses.
The new camera is expected to sell for $2399 (body only) and should be available in stores at the end of October or early in November. The Dynax 7D is the world’s first digital SLR with a body-integral CCD-shift, Anti-shake technology, which works by moving the CCD sensor to compensate for camera movement. With the Anti-shake technology in the camera body, stabilisation is effective for all compatible Minolta A-type bayonet mount interchangeable AF lenses. The Dynax 7D has a 23.5 x 15.7mm, 6.1-megapixel, interline primary colour, interlace scan CCD, which is associated with an LMF of 1.5x. It supports a maximum image size of 3008×2000 pixels and the camera can record in JPEG, RAW and RAW+JPEG formats. In burst mode, the camera can capture nine RAW shots or up to 43 small JPEG images at approximately three frames/second. Shutter speeds range from 30-1/4000 second, with a Bulb setting for long exposures and flash synch at 1/160 seconds (with Anti-shake off) or 1/125 seconds (with Anti-shake on).
Released concurrently with the Dynax 7D will be two new zoom lenses, the Konica Minolta AF Zoom 17-35mm F2.8-4 (D) and the Konica Minolta AF Zoom 28-75mm F2.8 (D). These fast zoom lenses feature circular apertures that produce attractive defocused gradations in shots with selective focusing. They also include a distance encoder that works with the Dynax 7D to enhance flash performance when the camera is used with its built-in flash or certain external flash units.
