June 28, 2007: DxO Labs has announced the immediate availability of the new version of its flagship product, DxO Optics Pro v4.5, for both Windows and Macintosh computer systems.
Features of the latest version include the first-ever third-party plug-in for Adobe Photoshop Lightroom, which allows photographers to integrate DxO Optics Pro and Lightroom into their workflow. Two integration pathways are provided:
– Via the exclusive ø¢â‚¬Å“DxO Optics Pro Plug-inø¢â‚¬ in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom, users can send their images straight from Adobe Photoshop Lightroom to DxO Optics Pro for processing and save corrected files directly into their Lightroom library (with the image metadata intact).
– Via the ø¢â‚¬Å“Export to Lightroomø¢â‚¬ feature within the stand-alone version of DxO Optics Pro v4.5 which enables users to send their images directly to an Adobe Photoshop Lightroom library.
DxO Optics Pro v4.5 also comes with a free Flickr Export plug-in, which supports automatic login, tagging and fast uploading of DxO Optics Pro processed images to Flickr.com, the popular photo-sharing Web site. Other new features include an Automatic Crop function that maximizes the remaining image surface, respects the height/width ratio and preserves the geometric centre of the image, while providing users with an immediate view of the final effect of the crop. This feature is particularly useful on a batch of images that have been corrected for horizon alignment or perspective.
Improvements to RAM usage and Graphic Processing Unit (GPU) implementation have made the latest version up to 505 faster and more efficient than its predecessors. The upgrade to DxO Optics Pro v4.5 is free for all users of DxO Optics Pro v4.x (4.0, 4.1, and 4.2). Full versions of the software are available in three levels: DxO Optics Pro v4 Starter (US$79), DxO Optics Pro v4 Standard (US$169) and DxO Optics Pro v4 Elite (US$299). They can be downloaded from the DxO Labs e-store (www.dxo.com).
